Chapter 149 - Warlock!
-----
After calling Noah the "spawn of Azathoth", the entity decided to pick him as his apostle.
However, Noah first needed to know the dangers of such a bond or contract.
"What are the conditions? I don\'t want any weird loopholes you can abuse to induce me into complete insanity," said Noah.
"Hoh? Complete insanity? But you are already completely insane. It is rather hard to make someone who had already delved deep into the abyss even more insane than they already are," said the entity.
"…And the conditions?" asked Noah.
"I want you to offer me a certain quantity of the blood, soul, and negative emotions of those you slay. I can also draw it from those connected to you too, such as subordinates," said the entity.
"Only a small amount? Hm… But what do I get?" asked Noah.
"You get to use a small part of my powers, as you delve into the abyss, consuming flesh, blood, souls, and emotions, you can wield the magic of mine… Surprisingly, we already have a good affinity with each other, learning such magic won\'t be difficult for you…" said the entity.
"…Anything else?" asked Noah.
"Bear in mind that the more you develop the powers I give you, the far you strive from your humanity, and the more monstrous you will become… Surprisingly enough, your soul has interesting properties. Perhaps you will not be as affected as long as you can keep your energy in high amounts. The spells you will be able to conjure use large quantities of Mana, and the strongest ones even use pieces of your soul as sacrifices… As a spawn of Azathoth, you will most likely have natural talent wielding such powers, however," said the entity, only making Noah wonder even more what kind of powers he was going to acquire…
"One last thing. Your world… the System within it… It was made by a rather strong otherworldly entity. Be aware of it. And don\'t think that some of the powers you get from it are for granted. The power within Systems that do not belong to you can always be taken away… However, your Blood Core… the shiny jewel within your soul and body, it is slowly assimilating the System, perhaps it needs a little push to reach something else, but for now, don\'t take everything for granted," said the entity, giving Noah one last warning about the world.
But what did it truly meant?
The System… could be taken away from him?
Noah had never considered it, but it was certainly true.
The System was designed by an entity that everyone knows as the System Master, an alien to Earth that granted people this System to "help" them.
But aside from that, Noah does not know anything else about this entity, nor most people, they simply knew about its existence because it decided to descend once, but since then, it has never been seen again.
What was truly the System Master?
The entity said that it was an "otherworldly entity", but to Noah that was rather obvious.
However, the thought about having his hard-earned powers gone in a second made Noah feel strange.
Indeed, the power of the System was not truly his…
Then, did this meant that he could not get these powers for himself?
And what about his body and more? Would they disappear if such Skills disappeared?
Where was the line between the powers innate to his very existence and then the powers were given by the System?
It was as if the System itself was becoming… part of reality itself.
Did this mean that the System could become a law of the world? Something that contained it, a pillar to its existence.
If the System disappears… would the world be destroyed?
"You seem to be considering many things. That is good. I only let those who think and consider many things as my apostles…" said the entity.
"…How can I call you?" asked Noah.
"My name must not be pronounced by mortals. You can call me the Bloodshot Eye," said the entity.
"Bloodshot… Eye? What kind of name is that?" asked Noah.
"It represents me well… You will see when you can develop my abilities and conjurations," laughed the entity, as Noah was suddenly engulfed by black flames and disappeared from the outer plane.
The entity fell silent, although it began to consider many things.
"I have never spoken with someone so calm even before an existence such as myself. Indeed, the Spawn of Azathoth might one day reach my level, or even surpass it… But what are Azathoth\'s intentions? Does he wants to exert his will to this world or… Hm? Perhaps it wants to help Chaos? Azathoth, being humble and a good person? Foolish. Azathoth is probably plotting something else, or well, Nyarlathotep, his avatar. Azathoth is simply sleeping. If he wakes up, that universe might end… And I don\'t think Chaos nor The One wants him to wake up either…" thought the entity.
As Noah opened his eyes, the burning pain reached his soul and began to encompass it.
He felt as if his soul was beginning to be being eaten as if sharp fangs were munching into it, it felt like a piercing and cold pain, something that made him almost groan in agony.
However, it suddenly ended.
Noah felt a rush of information enter his mind, the truths about the comprehension of magic and how flawed the use of magic in this world truly was.
He learned true magic, and not the automatic skills of this world, which were a form of magic that did not actually belong to those of this world, which simply employed their powers.
It was similar to wielding a sword, it was not really a part of these people.
But magic, true magic, was part of oneself.
Noah began to learn the power to even find a way to surpass the system and become his own power. To develop his own abilities, and to also help those around him do the same.
He even gained great enlightenment, this was as if he was being guided by the path of Bloodshot Eye, a path of insanity and enlightenment which was surrounded by flesh and blood.
A way to surpass his own self and reach new heights was always through learning the truth about magic, its origins, how the flow of endless mana intertwined through the universes, and how everything connected.
Through magic was the understanding of all existence.
And it was beautiful yet immensely overwhelming.
Noah had to quickly suppress this knowledge before it was to be too late, as his brain could explode due to the overload of information.
He was thirsty for more of such knowledge, to grasp the truest concepts, but it was still way too early.
Noah sighed in relief, as he decided to save such desires for another day, sealing the knowledge he acquired before he was to go completely berserk and become a beast without any intelligence.
However, he managed to at least grasp the most basic of knowledge, which was enough to enlighten his mind.
He even figured out a bit of what the System truly was, and how he could actually make it his power.
He needed a catalyst.
And what better catalyst than the Blood Core itself?
In fact, the Blood Core was already working as one, absorbing and assimilating the System\'s divine runes.
Noah\'s eyes glowed crimson red, but a new purple-colored flame had emerged within them.
He was now a Warlock.
