Chapter 398 - Gergesh Painfully Learns The Truth
-----
"But even then, it doesn\'t make sense… Why is he so obsessed if you have not done anything to him, Noah-sama?" asked Clementina.
Clementina asked a very important and true question.
Yeah, why was he so obsessed with killing Noah so much? He was just trying to do it without any reason?
"His thought process must be rather simple. Despite being a God who has created a whole underground organization and might be pulling the strings behind this Kingdom, this bastard seems to be an animalistic being, obsessed with power. He just wants to devour me because he felt a strong Essene from within me…" said Noah.
"Interesting. Perhaps he is underestimating your true power, my lord. Especially because we are masking ourselves as mortals. He most likely believes we are weaklings with just a lot of essence for whatever reason… foolish worm, I should really go freeze him alive." Said Clementina.
"He is most likely underestimating Noah\'s power… Nonetheless, he\'s acting quite cocky, without fearing to cause commotion. Does he controls the entire city in the night?" asked Iris.
"His sect controls most of the red-light districts, and all things illegal, but at the same time, it seems that they collude with the aristocrats and have strong ties with the other two neighbor Kingdoms… Although I believed he might be down here. He could also be in these two Kingdoms…" said Noah.
"I see… This is getting more and more complicated. It feels like a massive rabbit hole which we had stepped into and fallen inside." Sighed Arthur.
"This God… Gergesh, for how long as he been in here?" wondered Timassa.
"No idea, there\'s almost nothing related to him directly, but there are things related to his presence and power, and of the power he holds over the Kingdom and the underworld organizations." Said Noah.
"Would he try to search for us or something? It would be dangerous to stay in single place…" said Iris.
"Perhaps, but for now, let\'s stay here, we\'ll keep our guards high while the kids have some rest." Said Noah.
As they watched over the windows and chatted around, Noah noticed something.
"Could it be?" he wondered.
"Hm? You got an idea?" asked Arthur.
"Hmm… Perhaps this bastard is weaker than we thought. Perhaps he is trying to find us and devour our power so he can recover. He might be even more weakened than we thought he could be… Interesting," said Noah.
"Oh, that\'s quite a possibility. Maybe this relates to his unhealthy obsession with wanting to eat you my lord." Said Clementina.
"Well, the only one that can eat Noah is me, fufu…" said Iris.
"I-Iris, don\'t talk such things in such a serious discussion." Sighed Noah.
"O-Oh, right…" apologized Iris.
"If he\'s truly as weak as we think he might be, then there could be more than one possibility of defeating him. We must first find where the heck he is, and not without not being cautious." Said Noah.
Noah had already gotten a great bite off this god, and he could honestly not wait any longer to eat and taste his soul once more. Perhaps eating God\'s whole would be the best way to raise into godhood ranks now!
In thar regard, Vedas was the ideal training ground for Noah to reach higher levels of divinity so he can train and prepare himself for the dangerous outside world.
If Noah could achieve a level of power where he could just continuously devour Gods after another, he would quickly raise in power and become one of the strongest dragon gods in this entire world… and then, he could even swallow the world, absorb it all into himself, and be absolutely ready to defeat the Watchers tailing him from behind!
Of course, this event was but a small snack before the real feasts could begin atop the skies.
Nonetheless, Noah still had more to learn about this world and its mysteries. He wanted to collect its treasures, expand his army of dead, absorb essence, change Classes as much as possible, and absorb as much power from this entire world as he possibly could! There was nothing stopping such a gluttonous desire from expanding even further. Noah was going absolutely ham in this world, soon enough, he was going to shake it all!
But for now, he needed to wait for a bit.
"When the morning hits, we\'ll depart with our children. We should travel around the village looking for clues or any info regarding the Heroes of this Kingdom, and anything else we can find regarding them, or the aristocrats connected to them… If we can get to meet them or find where they live. We can lurk behind them, trap them in a divine domain, and devour them." Said Noah.
"An excellent plan, dear." Said Iris.
Noah was first going to have a great feast of Heroes before the main dish, Gergesh!
…
Meanwhile, within the depths of the underground, an entity rested within its Dark Divine Realm, his eyes unrest in pain and anger, he couldn\'t believe it…
"I was right, I am glad I deleted the memories from those soul fragments… To think that this being can devour other divine souls so easily like this… And… Ungh…! Such a pain in the ass… It hurts to even breath?"
Gergesh suddenly suffered a large amount of pain when Noah devoured his soul fragments. For some reason, it was as if these fragments were really his soul, and the pieces he lost were still connected to him… it was something he needed to do to provide them with intelligence and more, but ended inappropriate, as it ended making him suffer, although not as much as he actually deserves it.
"That being\'s name… Noah, right? Nnngh… I am not giving up. He\'s not that strong… I could ambush him and then finish him off… I have to just spread more fragments… I must devour him to regain my power and finally have my revenge!" thought the abominable monster. He had a very simplistic mind.
