A Female Forensic Doctor Transmigrates into a Book as the Female Supporting Character

Chapter 148 - 148 Shanshan

Yin Tao followed Lin Jia into the Children’s Home. Several staff members quickly recognized Lin Jia and went forward to welcome him warmly. It seemed that Lin Jia did come here often. From the attitude of the staff, Yin Tao felt that Lin Jia must have donated a lot of money.

The person in the lead was a lady in her fifties. She was dressed very simply. After a short conversation, Yin Tao and Lin Jia were brought to the door of a classroom.

Through the glass on the door, Yin Tao saw a group of children in the midst of a handicraft lesson. They were about six or seven years old and they were all adorable and innocent looking.

!!

“Mr. Lin, your donation has already helped the orphanage improve all the facilities in the canteen and dormitory. Old Zhou and I are really grateful for your help to the children.”

The lady’s attitude was very sincere, and Yin Tao could tell that she was truly grateful to Lin Jia.

“Sister Sun, you’re being too kind. You and Director Zhou are the truly great ones. Without the two of you, this Children’s Home wouldn’t exist at all.”

Lin Jia’s words made Yin Tao take a closer look at Sister Sun again. So she was actually the wife of the director of this Children’s Home.

It seemed like Director Zhou and Mrs Zhou are really kind souls to be personally running the Children’s Home.

“Mr. Lin, is this lady your girlfriend?” Sister Sun looked at Yin Tao beside Lin Jia and asked Lin Jia.

“Please don’t misunderstand. Xiaotao… is my friend,” Lin Jia hurriedly explained. He was worried that Yin Tao would feel awkward.

When Sister Sun heard Lin Jia’s reply, she was clearly a little disappointed. Lin Jia had always been alone, and this was the first time he had brought a girl here. Sister Sun thought that Lin Jia had found his other half and sincerely hoped that he had found happiness.

“I’m sorry, Miss Xiaotao. Mr. Lin has always come to our Children’s Home alone. I got the wrong idea.” Sister Sun apologized to Yin Tao in embarrassment.

“It’s fine. Don’t take it to heart.” Yin Tao is full of admiration for her because of what Lin Jia said just now.

The children inside seemed to have finished their class. The staff brought Lin Jia’s gifts into the classroom.

“Uncle Lin!”

When they saw Lin Jia enter, a few of the more cheerful children ran towards him.

“Lele, Tongtong, Xiaobo… You all seem to have grown a lot taller.”

When Yin Tao saw that Lin Jia was able to clearly call out the name of every single child, she felt some admiration for him in her heart. Lin Jia had a very busy work schedule and it was truly admirable that he still found time and energy to take care of these children.

While the other children were distributing the gifts and snacks that Lin Jia had brought, Yin Tao noticed a little girl sitting in the corner and slowly walked towards her.

“You must be Shanshan, right?” Yin Tao gently bent down and looked at the quiet little girl in front of her. She felt that she should be the Shanshan that Lin Jia had mentioned before they came.

The girl slowly raised her head and looked at Yin Tao. Her voice was extremely soft as she said, “Yes.”

Yin Tao looked at the little girl in front of her. Her hair was combed back and she had big eyes. She was especially fair, perhaps because she didn’t like going outdoors. She looked like an exquisite porcelain doll.

“Uncle Lin Jia brought a lot of gifts. Do you want to pick one too?” Yin Tao tried to communicate with the girl, but she kept her head lowered and didn’t respond anymore.

When the young female teacher saw that Shanshan was silent, she anxiously gestured for her to interact more with Yin Tao. “Shanshan, don’t you like to draw? You can show her the paintings you drew.”

Shanshan seemed to be very obedient to her teacher. She hesitantly took out a thick sketchbook from the desk but hesitated to open it.

“This child is especially introverted. It’s not that she doesn’t like you.” The teacher was worried that Yin Tao would lose her patience and explained, “Shanshan doesn’t usually meet strangers. The fact that she can continue to stay here without suddenly running away proves that she likes you very much.”

Yin Tao nodded. She understood the teacher’s feelings and said, “It’s fine. I quite like this child.”

Hearing Yin Tao’s words, the teacher seemed pleasantly surprised and urged Shanshan to show Yin Tao her paintings.

“It’s fine, Teacher.” Yin Tao motioned for the teacher not to push Shanshan. She turned around and asked, “Can I spend some time alone with this child?”

The female teacher seemed to be in a difficult position. Yin Tao was surprised at her reaction as her request wasn’t actually too much to ask.
